So much art, so little time. How to best navigate the Los Angeles gallery and museum scene? Here are critic’s previews, openings and continuing shows for the week beginning Thursday, June 26.

Critic’s Preview
Christopher Knight, Times Art Critic

MOCA Focus: Lisa Lapinski, the Fret and Its Variants. The word “fret” describes Lapinski’s sculptures, which combine the kind of decorative interlaces associated with Middle Eastern fretwork and a sense of discombobulated worry -- what the heck is that thing? -- that the verb “fret” implies. Opens today. Museum of Contemporary Art, 250 S. Grand Ave., L.A. (213) 626-6222.
