Hands-on learning about Cesar Chavez

Cynthia Lemus carries a crate full of lettuce with a group of other Cal State Fullerton students and pupils from Newport Beach's Andersen Elementary who were celebrating Cesar Chavez Day by picking crops at the Incredible Edible Park in Irvine today. The students picked about 1,500 pounds of cabbage, lettuce, onions and lemons that will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. It was a hands-on lesson about Chavez and the farmworkers.
