Kadi and Daniel Prescott love their single-story house with its flowing floor plan, large backyard and room enough for their seven children. They bought the home in the Mission Crest development in 2006, hoping to build on the equity from the sale of their previous house in Riverside. Now the High Desert subdivision has become a patchwork of foreclosures, upside-downs, short sales and renters. The Prescotts are now considering walking away from their dream home, which is worth less than half of what they paid for it.
