Earthquake: 2.7 quake strikes near Chino

A shallow magnitude 2.7 earthquake was reported Friday evening one mile from Los Serranos, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:05 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 9.9 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was one mile from Chino Hills, three miles from Chino and five miles from Diamond Bar.

In the last 10 days, there have been four earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
