Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Nevada City, California [Updated]

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Tuesday morning six miles from Nevada City, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:16 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 20.5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was nine miles from Grass Valley, Calif., 29 miles from North Auburn, 31 miles from Oroville and 58 miles from Sacramento.

In the past 10 days, there have been four earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
