Earthquake: 3.1 quake strikes near Rancho Cucamonga

A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Sunday evening three miles from Rancho Cucamonga, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:59 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 8.7 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was four miles from Mira Loma, four miles from Glen Avon, five miles from Ontario, and 317 miles from Phoenix, Ariz.

In the past 10 days, there have been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
