Earthquake: 3.8 quake strikes near Villa Park, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported Wednesday evening six miles from Villa Park, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:40 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of five miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was seven miles from Corona, Calif., seven miles from North Tustin, Calif., eight miles from Yorba Linda, Calif., and 323 miles from Phoenix, Ariz.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
