Chapultepec Zoo

A newborn baby hippopotamus rests next to its mother at the Chapultepec Zoo in Mexico City. The baby hippo born Feb. 24, 2014, is the first one born at the zoo in the last 16 years. Mexico City authorities have started a contest to name it, inviting all to participate through the Mexico City online sites to choose a name. The baby hippo's sex has yet not been determined because zoo keepers must keep their distance from the protective mother.
