Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Big Pine, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Monday afternoon 22 miles from Big Pine, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:25 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 87 miles from Exeter, Calif., 89 miles from Lindsay, Calif., and 89 miles from Dinuba, Calif.

In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
