Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Lone Pine, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Saturday afternoon 32 miles from Lone Pine, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:05 p.m. PDT time at a depth of 1.9 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 38 miles from Ridgecrest, Calif.

In the last 10 days, there have been five earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
