Earthquake: 3.8 quake strikes near The Geysers, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake, later upgraded to 3.8, was reported Wednesday evening three miles from The Geysers, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:29 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 1.2 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 14 miles from Clearlake, 14 miles from Healdsburg, 17 miles from Windsor and 73 miles from Sacramento.

In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
