Earthquake near Oak Hills downgraded to magnitude 3.5
A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Friday morning eight miles from Oak Hills, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:35 a.m. PDT at a depth of 6.8 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was eight miles from Phelan, 12 miles from Crestline, and 13 miles from Hesperia.
The quake was originally reported as magnitude 3.6, but was later downgraded to 3.5, the USGS said.
In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
