Earthquake: 4.0 quake strikes near Imperial
A shallow magnitude 4.0 earthquake was reported Wednesday evening 22 miles from Imperial, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 8:15 p.m. PST at a depth of 0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 8 miles away from Calipatria, Calif; 14 miles from Brawley, Calif.; and 26 miles from El Centro, Calif.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
