10 rescued after reports of shots fired at O.C. equestrian center
Ten people were rescued Wednesday afternoon from an equestrian center in Orange County after a report of gunshots fired in the area near Silverado Canyon, law enforcement authorities said.
There were no injuries, and deputies at the scene said they had found no weapons, said Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
There were no details available on the 10 people rescued.
Deputies were waiting for a search warrant for an adjacent residence on Jackson Ranch Road, where the gunshots reportedly originated.
A man and woman were detained as deputies swarmed the scene, authorities said.
Authorities have closed down about a three-mile stretch of Santiago Canyon Road between Silverado Canyon Road and Modjeska Canyon Road.
The department was flooded with calls as the incident unfolded, and a SWAT team responded.
