SigAlert: Truck carrying 8,000 pounds of lights overturns on 405
A tractor-trailer carrying 8,000 pounds of light fixtures overturned Tuesday afternoon on the southbound 405 Freeway in Inglewood, prompting officials to shut down an onramp while crews clean up.
The driver of the rig was heading south from Olive Avenue at about 12:45 p.m. when he veered to the right shoulder, steered to the left and overturned, said Officer Karina Muñoz of the California Highway Patrol’s West Los Angeles station.
Officials shut down the Olive onramp as a hazmat crew cleaned up 75 gallons of spilled fuel.
The SigAlert issued for the incident was set to be lifted at 8 p.m., Muñoz said.
