Three people were killed Sunday after their vehicle veered off the 60 Freeway and into a construction area in the San Gabriel Valley, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.

Two men and one woman, all in their mid 20s, died after their Kia Soul crossed all westbound lanes of the freeway, took the Crossroads Parkway off-ramp and went airborne, said CHP spokeswoman Monica Posada.

The accident occurred near the border between Hacienda Heights and City of Industry, Posada said. The call to the CHP came it at 6:48 a.m.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene. Investigators closed the westbound on-ramp and off-ramp at Crossroads Parkway after the crash, Posada said.
