Arcadia police are searching for three suspects who attempted to rob a home Friday night while holding residents at gunpoint.

The three suspects entered the house in the 600 block of west Lemon Aveune through an unlocked rear window, said Arcadia police Lt. Mike Castro. Two of the suspects were wearing hoodies, one red and the other black, and at least one was armed with a handgun, police said.

Police were dispatched to the house after a man and woman were heard screaming for help shortly before 11 p.m., authorities said. The residents told officers the suspects took them to an upstairs bedroom and forced them to lie on the floor, where they were held at gunpoint by one of the men while the house was ransacked, according to police.

The residents said they were able to escape by running to the window, pushing out the screen and jumping onto the roof while their minder was not watching. They were injured while jumping down from the roof and treated at a local hospital.

Detectives asked anyone with information to contact Arcadia police at (626) 574-5150, or submit tips anonymously to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
