Arcadia High School locked down after threatening phone call
Arcadia High School was locked down Thursday afternoon after officials received a threatening phone call similar to other phone threats made this week at other San Gabriel Valley schools, police said.
Officers were searching the campus near Santa Anita Avenue and West Duarte Road after the threat came in before 3 p.m., the Arcadia Police Department said.
Police said one student was taken off campus due to a medical issue not related to the lockdown.
On Tuesday afternoon, Duarte High School and an intermediate school that shares the same campus were placed on lockdown after a telephone report came in saying there was a person with a gun in the area, authorities said.
The Duarte campus was searched by Sheriff’s Department deputies, but no person with a gun was found. No students were reported injured.
In Arcadia, police said Wednesday on Twitter that officials received a “call similar to others in [the] area this week.”
Parents planning to pick up their children were advised to use the parking lot at Arcadia County Park on Santa Anita Avenue.
