Los Angeles police arrested a man Thursday on suspicion of fatally stabbing a 27-year-old man the day before in Hollywood Boulevard’s tourist district, authorities said.

Raymond Jackson, 29, was arrested by LAPD detectives with the help of the FBI after an investigation that began Wednesday in the 1700 block of North Cherokee Avenue, according to a statement from the department.

Officers arrived about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at an empty parking lot, where they found a man with critical stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of his family.

A witness told police that a man had stabbed the victim, then fled in the witness’ brown Ford F150 pickup, officials said.

The truck was later found a few blocks away.

It was unclear where Jackson, a Pacoima resident, was arrested. He is being held in lieu of $1-million bond.
