San Bernardino County law enforcement authorities were looking for a driver Monday who they say killed a 53-year-old pedestrian in a hit-and-run collision.

William Alvarez was struck by a man driving a 2002 Blue Chevrolet Blazer on Sunday evening in Highland, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Alvarez was hit so hard as he walked across an intersection near Walker and Baseline streets that the hood of the vehicle and other debris scattered across the area, department officials said.

Officials identified the registered owner of the Blazer as Tommy Alan Kormillo, 35, who lives in Highland.

“Deputies believe Kormillo was driving the vehicle at the time of the collision,” officials said in a statement.

Anyone who saw the crash or knows Kormillo’s whereabouts is asked to call authorities at (909) 4125-9793. Anonymous callers can leave a message at (800) 782-7563.
