Troubled bridge over L.A. waters gets an artistic send-off

Nothing can save the 83-year-old Sixth Street Viaduct. It's been slated for demolition for years, thanks to a condition that causes it to crack and degrade.

The city historic-cultural monument will start coming down later this year to make way for a modern bridge that won an international design competition.

Before it does, a local art center wanted to pay homage. So Art Share L.A. organized an exhibit called "Ode to the Bridge." 

The exhibit, in the Arts District, features 78 works by local artists highlighting the old bridge.
