A woman who leaped off a high-rise tower in Beverly Hills early Wednesday has died, a city official said.

Beverly Hills police received a call about a woman on the roof of a 15-story building at 414 N. Camden Drive about 7 a.m., city spokeswoman Therese Kosterman said in a statement.

The woman was unclothed and despondent, threatening to jump, Kosterman said.

Crisis negotiators from the police department attempted to talk the woman down for hours, said Beverly Hills Police Sgt. Dave Hamel. She jumped about 10 a.m. and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, he said.
