Foothill Transit bus and cyclist in fatal collision in Pomona
A bicyclist was killed after colliding with a Foothill Transit bus in Pomona early Thursday morning, police said.
The collision occurred near the area of White Avenue between Orange Grove and Holt avenues.
The victim was described only as a male adult in his 40s, according to a news bulletin from the Pomona Police Department.
The department also said a Major Accident Investigation Team was investigating what caused the collision.
A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said crews were dispatched to the 900 block of White Avenue at 5:47 a.m. and the man was taken to a hospital about 15 minutes later.
A spokeswoman for Foothill Transit said the agency offers its deepest condolences to the family of the man who died.
