A big rig that crashed into the center divider and jumped up onto the railway has closed three lanes of the westbound 210 Freeway in Pasadena, bringing traffic in the area to crawl.
The crash occurred at Rosemead Boulevard, prompting lanes closures and the issuance of a SigAlert about 2:40 p.m.
Aerial television news footage showed the wreckage had spilled onto the rail tracks, however, Metro officials said that the area was under contruction for the future Gold Line extension, and would not affect commuters.
It was not immediately known how badly the construction area was damaged.
There were no immediate estimates for how long the lanes would be closed. Information on the cause of the crash and possible injuries was also not immediately available.
