California Highway Patrol officers arrested a big rig driver who authorities said fled on foot after being involved in a fatal multi-vehicle crash early Thursday in Ontario.

CHP officials said officers spent several hours searching for the man, eventually tracking him down at his home in Fontana, where he was arrested. His name was not immediately released.

The crash was reported about 2:11 a.m. at Etiwanda and San Bernardino avenues, just north of the 10 Freeway, the CHP said.
