1 dead when truck veers off 10 Freeway in Bloomington, hits tree
One person died Friday morning when a pickup truck the person was in blew a tire on the 10 Freeway, veered off the shoulder and caught fire after crashing into a tree.
The crash occurred just before 4 a.m. off the westbound 10 and Cedar Avenue in Bloomington, which is in San Bernardino County, California Highway Patrol logs show.
Witnesses reported seeing a tire on the truck blow before it veered off the highway and crashed, according to the logs. A person was reportedly trapped in the car but it was not immediately known how the person died.
The crash blocked several lanes of the freeway for nearly three hours. The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
The person who died has not yet been identified.
