Cheerleading coach arrested in molestation case, Chino police say

A 32-year-old cheerleading coach from Chino has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a 14-year-old girl and several other victims, law enforcement authorities said Monday.

Kristofer Bland worked for a private company that taught cheerleading and coached the 14-year-old, according to the Chino Police Department.

Department officials said investigators became aware of the allegations Saturday after being alerted by a parent who overhead a conversation between her daughter and friend "in which acts of molestation were discussed."

Police said the investigation led offices to the 14-year-old. "The 14-year-old victim cooperated in the investigation and identified the suspect as her cheerleading coach," department officials said in a statement. "Corroborating evidence was obtained linking the coach to the original victim and several others."

Bland was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (909) 628-1234.
