A Chino Hills man shot and injured his daughter’s ex-boyfriend, who had stabbed him multiple times after breaking into his home early Wednesday, authorities said.

The man and ex-boyfriend were taken to a local hospital, where they were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Chino Hills Police Department.

At 2:24 a.m., the ex-boyfriend, Raiveon Wooden, 18, of Chino, allegedly broke into the man’s home in the 2800 block of Brookside Drive and hid in the garage, police said. The man apparently became aware that someone was inside his garage, so he armed himself with a handgun before taking a look.

As he approached the garage, Wooden attacked the man and stabbed him multiple times, police said in a statement.

The man, who was not immediately identified, then fired at Wooden, striking him twice, police said.

Once Wooden is released from the hospital, police said he will be booked on suspicion of attempted murder and burglary.
