Holiday weather: Chill, drizzle mean L.A. will feel like Christmas

Share

Chilly temperatures, cloudy skies and some drizzle may put a damper on any day. But on Thursday, it’s going to feel like Christmas.

Southern Californians can pull out their best winter sweaters because temperatures Thursday will be in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Some drizzle may roll in to Ventura and Los Angeles counties, and it will be mostly cloudy.

“It’s going to feel a little bit like Southern California’s version of Christmas,” said meteorologist David Sweet of the National Weather Service in Los Angeles.

Wednesday, Christmas Eve, will be warmer and sunny with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.

It’s unclear how the holiday drizzle will affect the region, Sweet said.

The state has been fortunate in recent weeks to experience a series of rainstorms that have begun to replenish California’s parched forests and mountains. An estimated 10 trillion gallons fell in one 10-day stretch, according to the National Weather Service.
