Corona police seek man who sexually assaulted woman

Corona police Tuesday night were looking for a man armed with a knife who sexually assaulted a 34-year-old woman.

The assault took place April 4 as the woman was getting out her car at a Walmart store in 400 block of North McKinley Avenue, the Corona Police Department said.

The man approached the woman, asking for spare change.

When the victim reached into her car, police said, the suspect brandished a knife and forced the woman to drive to a secluded area in Riverside County.

The man assaulted the woman and made her drive him around to La Sierra and Indiana avenues about 4 a.m. in Riverside, according to police. The man ran away.

The incident was reported to police Sunday.

The man is described at white, 5-feet-7 and about 40 years old. He has a slender build, police said.
