For sale: Dick Van Dyke’s car, slightly used and ‘REAL CHEAP’

Share

A fire that torched Dick Van Dyke’s vehicle on the 101 Freeway in Calabasas on Monday left the actor -- and his sense of humor -- unscathed.

In a tweet on Monday night, hours after the comedy veteran was pulled out of his burning car on the eastbound 101 Freeway near Parkway Calabasas, Van Dyke joked that his Jaguar was now on the market.

Although the California Highway Patrol did not identify Van Dyke by name, he and his wife both tweeted photos and video after the aftermath.

“He’s fine thank God!!” Arlene Van Dyke wrote.

A CHP log of the incident noted that the driver was still inside, possibly unaware that the vehicle was on fire. Two off-duty nurses apparently went to the aid of the driver, according to the log.

Two eastbound lanes of the freeway were briefly closed.

Dozens of people tweeted back to the actor Monday night that they were glad he was OK.
