Naked man rescued from storm drain
Of all the ways to stay cool during a heat spell, a man in Chula Vista may have found one of the strangest: crawling inside a storm drain. Naked.
Or so the man told the Fire Department after he was rescued Monday night. A passerby had heard screams for help coming from inside a storm drain.
Rescued and given something to cover himself, the man told firefighters that he had been inside the storm drainage system for several hours, gotten lost and forgot the way out.
Uninjured but tired, the man was allowed to return home, with advice about how NOT to deal with hot weather.
