Man shot outside Burger King in Echo Park; gunman remains at large

Los Angeles police are looking for a gunman who shot a man outside a Burger King in Echo Park on Tuesday morning.

The shooting was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m. at Reservoir Street and Glendale Boulevard, LAPD officials said. A person reported hearing a gunshot then found a man wounded on the sidewalk outside the restaurant.

KTLA-TV reported that the man was wounded in the neck.

The shooter, who was seen running northbound on Alvarado Boulevard, remains at large.

Police and fire department officials said they did not know the victim’s condition.

Over the last six months, violent crime in Echo Park has been higher than the nearby communities of Silver Lake, Westlake and Elysian Park, according to the the L.A. Times’ crime database.
