Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested in Riverside County for allegedly driving under the influence and then was arrested again on suspicion of burglarizing a tow yard to retrieve his vehicle, authorities said Monday.

Young, 23, who was released by the Lions, was arrested Sunday after deputies say they saw him driving his Ford Mustang toward oncoming traffic in Moreno Valley and making an illegal left turn, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Department spokeswoman Lisa McConnell told the Riverside Press Enterprise that Young was arrested about 14 hours later on suspicion of burglary after he allegedly jumped a fence at the tow yard.

“He was trying to retrieve his vehicle,” McConnell said. “So, … Mr. Young was arrested for burglary.”

Young was a standout at Boise State University but was released in February after he had been placed on injured reserves with a bad knee.
