Several buildings in Paramount were evacuated during the night after an explosive device was found in a van at an apartment complex, authorities said.
The device was discovered in the 7200 block of Richfield Street around 11:15 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Eric Lindblom told KTLA.

About 100 residents were evacuated for several hours while a Sheriff’s Department explosives detail investigated the scene. Evacuation orders were lifted around 3 a.m. Tuesday after the scene was cleared, Lindblom said.

No injuries were reported.

One man, who was not immediately identified, was arrested in connection with the incident. It was not clear what charges he may face.
