Firefighters battled a huge blaze Thursday evening that ravaged a commercial building in southeast Los Angeles County and burned several vehicles.

No injuries were reported in the fire in the 8100 block of Marbrisa Avenue near the unincorporated communities of Walnut Park and Florence-Firestone, officials said.

The fire created a dark smoke cloud that was visible for miles as firefighters poured streams of water onto the flames. The blaze caused the building to collapse, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

The agency said efforts to battle the blaze were complicated by downed power lines and natural gas and acetylene leaks.

By 7 p.m., firefighters had knocked down the blaze. The cause was under investigation.
