Fontana police shoot, wound man in Encino during drug investigation
Fontana police shot a man Wednesday afternoon near a home in a quiet Encino cul de sac, authorities said.
About 1:45 p.m., officers from the Fontana Police Department were serving a warrant in the 6300 block of Yarmouth Avenue in connection with an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to department spokeswoman Martha Guzman-Hurtado.
At some point, a man was shot by officers and transported to the hospital in an unknown condition, Guzman-Hurtado said.
Police did not release details about what led up to the shooting. Authorities did not say whether the man had a weapon.
The Los Angeles Police Department plans to investigate the shooting.
