A former Irwindale police officer has pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman during a traffic stop in 2012.

David Paul Fraijo, 36, pleaded not guilty this week to five felonies, including kidnapping to commit another crime, forced oral copulation, oral copulation under the color of authority, sexual battery by restraint and assault under color of authority.

He faces up to life in prison and is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.

According to prosecutors, in October 2012 Fraijo pulled over a woman and asked to see her driver’s license. When she told him she didn’t have one, he ordered her to park at a nearby street where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
