Justin Bieber egging case: D.A. considering felony vandalism charge

Los Angeles County prosecutors are deciding whether to charge Justin Bieber with felony vandalism after he allegedly egged a neighbor’s home.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives turned over their investigation to prosecutors on Thursday, and sources said the investigators are seeking a felony vandalism prosecution against the singer.

Bieber is considered a suspect in the egging incident at his neighbor’s home in the 25000 block of Prado Del Grandioso in Calabasas. Authorities said the entertainer could face felony charges because the damage totaled $20,000.

Last month, detectives served a felony search warrant looking for “video surveillance or other relevant evidence” that the singer was involved in the incident.

Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, said Thursday that prosecutors received the investigation report from the Sheriff’s Department, but that no decision on charges had been made.

Bieber has had a series of run-ins with authorities this year.

He was arrested in Florida on Jan. 23 and later charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving without a license. Last week, he surrendered to Toronto police on an assault allegation involving a limousine driver.

Through his attorney, Bieber has denied any wrongdoing in the alleged egging.
