Family of missing Laguna Niguel teen extends search to Oregon
A pair of sightings in a rural coastal Oregon town sparked a new wave of hope for the family and friends of Bryce Laspisa, a Southern California teen missing since August.
Laspisa’s family reported on the Facebook page dedicated to their search that he has been seen twice in Port Orford, Ore., including last weekend.
The sightings could not be confirmed, the family posted on the Facebook page Wednesday. The Port Orford Police Department could not be reached Wednesday.
The sighting was the latest in a string of leads which so far have been proven false. There was a recent sighting at a hotel in Oxnard and multiple reports of Laspisa in Valencia, where it ended up being a different red-headed teenager, family said. He was even reported spotted in Arkansas.
Laspisa disappeared after an apparent car accident at Castaic Lake Aug. 30. Laspisa’s cellphone, wallet, laptop and blood were in the car, just no Laspisa. Police and family believe the 19-year-old college student survived the crash, but no one knows where he’s been since.
The family continues to hold out hope and has spread fliers across California. On Monday, family and friends held vigils for him in Northern California, where went to school; Castaic; and the family’s hometown of Naperville, Ill., a suburb of Chicago.
Laspisa is described as 5-foot-10, 160 pounds with short orange-red hair and a tattoo of a bull’s head on his left shoulder.
