Shed fire spreads to Lincoln Heights home; extinguished in 20 minutes

Share

Fifty-eight Los Angeles firefighters needed about 20 minutes Friday to extinguish a house fire in Lincoln Heights.

The blaze was reported about 5:45 p.m. at 2344 N. Hancock St., said Shawn Lenske, an LAFD spokesman. It was out 21 minutes later, Lenske said.

The fire started in a shed at the back of the property and then spread to the home, Lenske said. Neighboring homes may have suffered smoke damage, he said.

The amount of damage to the burned home was unclear, but Lenske said it was likely “severe.”

Power lines and a transformer could be seen sparking on live TV news coverage while the fire raged.

No injuries were reported, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
