A woman wounded in a double shooting in Littlerock early Thursday is expected to survive, authorities said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was shot along with her boyfriend during a dispute the couple was having with their roommate, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Her boyfriend was pronounced dead at the scene. The three lived in the 37500 block of 82nd Street East, a rural area on the edge of Angeles National Forest.

Just after 12 a.m. Thursday, an argument that had stretched long into the night boiled over when the roommate grabbed a gun and shot the couple.

Lt. Mike Rosson told KTLA-TV the argument was over an item that was either stolen or missing.

“Apparently this argument had gone on for several hours and then it resulted in this violence,” Rosson said.

It was the first of two shootings Thursday in Littlerock.

About five miles away, a sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a man in the 36600 block of 117th Street East about 7:30 a.m. The deputy was uninjured; no other details were immediately available.
