Drug charges were dismissed Friday against Nadia Lockyer, the wife of state Treasurer Bill Lockyer and a former Bay Area supervisor who was arrested in a high-profile methamphetamine bust in Orange County in 2012.

Lockyer had been charged with drug possession, being under the influence of drugs and keeping methamphetamine in the room she shared with her 9-year-old son in Orange.

In an interview with KABC-TV Channel 7 late last year, Lockyer said she had conquered her drug problems, attended rehab and had reconciled with her husband.

Nadia Lockyer is the former president of the Santa Ana Board of Education and was an Alameda County supervisor.

In August 2012, police arrested Lockyer after receiving a tip about her drug involvement, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.

When officers went to the home of her relative, where she was living temporarily with her son, they found her in possession of methamphetamine and said she appeared to be under the influence of the drug, authorities said.

Police also said they found drug paraphernalia, including an opium pipe and tubular aluminum foil with a burned end.

Lockyer had resigned as supervisor months earlier amid a long-running drug-and-sex scandal, the result of an affair she allegedly had with a construction worker who she claimed had introduced her to meth and had met during an earlier stint in rehab.

She later separated from her husband, leaving the Bay Area to return to Orange County where she grew up.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Gerald Johnston dismissed her case Friday, said Gwen Vieau, courthouse spokeswoman. Lockyer has agreed to attend a diversion program.

Lockyer said her husband agreed to withdraw the divorce papers he had filed after seeing the progress she had made in rehab. The two now live together in Long Beach.
