A 24-year-old man was sentenced to four years in state prison for pimping a woman in Orange County after meeting her on an online dating website, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Everett Arnold Walker, who lived in Las Vegas, met the 26-year-old woman in October 2013, the Orange County district attorney’s office said.

Prosecutors said Walker convinced the victim to work for him as a prostitute and posted ads offering sex with her on a website known for prostitution.

Walker kept all the money the victim made as a prostitute and “pimped her in both Orange County and Las Vegas by flying her back and forth,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement.

Prosecutors accused Walker of arranging to pimp the victim in Orange County and Las Vegas.

“Walker is a pimp who exploits women and/or children for financial gain,” authorities said in the statement.

He was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in Orange County Superior Court to one count of pimping.

Prosecutors said the woman was contacted in January by Anaheim police, who determined that she had been a victim of pimping.

At Tuesday’s sentencing, a statement from the woman was read, saying, “That lifestyle is a prison, and nobody should have to endure it.”
