Man killed after being struck on 710 Freeway
A man standing in the Long Beach Freeway died Saturday after being struck by a vehicle, authorities said.
The man, who has not been identified, was in the northbound side of the freeway near the intersection with the eastbound 91 Freeway when he was hit around 4:40 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver stopped at the scene. It’s unclear why the man was in the road, authorities said.
Traffic was shut down for several hours but the freeway was reopened by 10 a.m.
