Man pushed into oncoming S.F. Muni train during fight, police say
A San Francisco man is recovering after being pushed into the path of an oncoming light-rail train Sunday during a fight, police said.
The man suffered serious head injuries after being hit by the train at the Civic Center station. He and another man were fighting at about 9 p.m. on the station platform near the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency rail line, said Officer Grace Gatpandan.
One man was shoved onto the tracks and struck by the Muni light-rail vehicle. The other fled before police arrived and remains at large.
The man struck by the train was pushed hard enough that he broke a window on the train, KGO-TV reported. Police will be examining surveillance video from the platform, according to KGO.
