Police warned parents Tuesday in Tujunga to be on the lookout for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl.

A police sketch shows the alleged attempted kidnapper who tried to grab the girl around 2 p.m. Sunday in the 6600 block of Olcott Street, according to Los Angeles police.

He tried to pull her into his vehicle near Mountain View Elementary School, police said. The girl screamed for help, and the man released her, KTLA-TV reported.

He then got into a tan or burnt orange medium-sized SUV and left, investigators said.

“He’s bold and he’s brazen,” said Sgt. Scott Kennedy, of the LAPD’s Foothill Division.

“He definitely has a motive to do something that I hope every parent would be concerned about,” he said.

The man was described as Latino, about 5-foot-3 and in his 40s, according to an LAPD statement.

Anyone with information is asked to call LAPD Foothill Area detectives at (818) 834-3115.
