Detectives investigate body found in bag in Manhattan Beach
A body found wrapped in a bag in Manhattan Beach appears to be that of a young Latino male, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said.
City workers moving a pile of dirt at a park in Manhattan Beach found the body Thursday afternoon.
The grisly discovery was made about 3:30 p.m. near a baseball diamond in the 1500 block of North Peck Avenue, authorities said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide investigators are on the case, the department said in a statement.
Due to the decomposed condition of the body, officials said, identification will have to be determined by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
