Homecoming surprise for Marine husband [Video]
A Maryland woman’s emotional video in which she floors her Marine husband as he returns to the U.S. has gone viral.
Gunnery Sgt. Chris Taylor was returning to California after a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan. Instead of waiting for him at home, wife Sara decided to drop in on him at Camp Pendleton.
In the video, which has been viewed nearly 1.2 million times on YouTube, Taylor surprises her husband in early November after he marches into the base with his group. He wasn’t expecting his family to visit him at the base homecoming.
“Because he is stationed in California and our kids and I live in Maryland, he didn’t think that anyone would be there when he returned. But I showed him,” she said on YouTube.
As she records the event, she steps close to him, and he doesn’t notice. But when he finally sees her, he becomes emotional.
It’s a poignant reunion for Taylor, who was part of the last group of Marines to return to California after a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan.
