Irvine mother convicted of sexually assaulting two teenagers

A 43-year-old Irvine mother was convicted Wednesday of sexually assaulting two teenagers who visited her home to spend time with her children.

Nicole Ethel McMillen had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male for more than a year beginning in 2005, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.

Prosecutors said she also had sexual contact with a 14-year-old male on multiple occasions in 2012.

At the time of the incidents, McMillen worked with kindergarten children at Peter’s Canyon Elementary School and was a “behavioral interventionist” with the Tustin Unified School District, the district attorney’s office said in a statement.

Prosecutors said McMillen had a “fun” home where youths spent time with her children watching movies or playing video games. She was arrested after the 14-year-old told his mother about the incidents.

McMillen is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 14 at the Fullerton courthouse. She faces a maximum sentence of six years and three months in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration.
